How to stop grinding teeth at night

Many of us are confronted with the unconscious habit of grinding and clenching our teeth in sleep. The worst part is, that we don’t even get to know about this very easily!  I myself faced this problem which lead to severe headaches in the morning along with sore gums and tooth sensitivity. It is very annoying waking up with a headache every morning!

So, in this article I would like to help you fight this problem effectively.

These are a few home remedies that are said to reduce the grinding and clenching.

1. Remove caffeine from your diet.

Caffeine makes your muscles difficult to relax. Cut down your cola, coffee, tea, energy drink intake. Also, reduce your chocolate intake.

2. Reduce stress.

Stress can lead to a lot of problems! It interferes with your piece of mind, ultimately leading to sleeping difficulties and muscles clenching. Try to keep yourself happy and keep yourself away from stressful situations.

You may even consider practicing relaxation techniques, such as meditation and yoga. It does help! 🙂

3. Avoid Alcohol.

Alcohol is a depressant which will make it difficult for you to sleep healthy. Though alcohol makes you sleepy, it makes you restless too. Limit alcohol consumption.

4. Check on your chewing habits.

Do you have a habit of chewing onto non-food stuff, such as pencils or your nails? It actually worsens the problem. Try to cut down on this habit as much as you can.

5. Make a conscious effort.

You can very easily help yourself if you make a conscious effort not to shut your mouth too tightly and make your teeth clench. Keep a check on your mouth, and it will help!

6. Relax before sleeping.

Before going to bed at night, relax yourself by listening to some soothing music or going out for a walk. Your mind must be stress free to have a good night’s sleep.

7. Doctor, maybe?

If you think the problem is too much for you to handle, visit a doctor. Who else can guide you better than a doctor!

I hope these were useful to you. I’d be really grateful even if it helps even a single one of you.

Happy Creepervity! ❤
