Let us eat Lettuce!

No salad is complete without a good portion of Lettuce, right? As a matter of fact, Lettuce is very healthy to eat and is also know as the ‘weight loss food’. (It is also my Guinea Pig’s favorite).

Now the big question is, which is the best Lettuce to eat?

  • With so many varieties one can get, Romaine Lettuce is the healthiest one!
  • It has the highest nutritional value of all.
  • It contains very less sugar.
  • Twice the Calcium and Protein (than in Iceberg lettuce)
  • Four times the Iron and whatnot!

So if you wish to lose weight or simply eat healthy, Romain Lettuce is the one! 🙂

 

REMEMBER – always choose red, green and dark colored foods over whites. Red and Green leaf Lettuce are way more nutritional than Iceberg.

 

So why should you include Lettuce in your diet? Following are 8 reasons that would make you love the Vegetable more and more ❤

 

1. It keeps your Heart healthy ❤

The consumption of Lettuce leads to a healthy heart! It’s Vitamin C and beta-carotene work together to prevent the oxidation of Cholesterol. Thus, keeping the heart healthy. ❤

Lettuce has relaxing and sleep inducing properties, similar to Opium but without side effects. Chew on a few leaves or drink Lettuce juice. 🙂

 

3. Low Glycemic Index.

For those who do not know, The Glycemic Index indicates the food’s effect on a person’s blood glucose. In simple words, Lettuce does not increase our blood glucose.

 

4. Revitalizes skin.

Being rich in Vitamin A, Lettuce increases the cell turnover, thus revitalizing the skin.

 

5. Prevents Hair fall and stimulates Hair growth.

Drinking Lettuce juice on daily basis stimulates hair growth. Vitamin K, present in Lettuce, is important for preventing hair fall. You’re welcome 💇🏼
